Come Back When The Leaves Have Fallen

Carlisle Inn SugarcreekThe summer comes to a close, foliage season fades away, and you may think the time to visit Amish Country is over. But don’t wait until next summer to come back—another new season is just beginning and there are all kinds of reasons to be our guest in Ohio’s Amish Country!

Would you like to soak up candlelight, Christmas music, and holiday dazzle and enjoy a few special events to begin your holiday season? The Dutchman Hospitality restaurants, shops and inns will be fully decorated for Christmas by the first weekend in November. Are you looking for unique ideas for a few people on your gift list? Will you need to snatch a little bit of peace and quiet as the holiday whirl begins?

Or maybe you’re already dreading the post-holiday letdown in January or the cabin fever blues of February. Are you planning ahead for a special New Year’s Eve or a Valentine’s getaway? Is your group looking for a weekend escape as winter settles in and the snows begin?

If you see yourself in any of these scenarios, let Dutchman Hospitality do what we do best—welcome you to the comfort and warmth of our inns, restaurants, gift shops, and theater in Ohio’s Amish Country.

Come stay with us in the peaceful luxury of our Carlisle Inns. Enjoy our Amish kitchen cooking (don’t worry about cooking or cleaning up dishes!), and unwind in front of our fireplaces or in our pool. Lose yourself for a few hours in the stories and music presented in afternoon or evening shows in our theater in the round.

The Theater at Carlisle Inn Sugarcreek is becoming a reason in itself to visit us. After a successful first year presenting Beverly Lewis’s The Confession Musical, we have added a second production, Wanda Brunstetter’s Half-Stitched, The Musical. Our audiences have been impressed and delighted by the family-friendly entertainment of comedy, drama, and music. Many people return for a second and even a third showing, bringing more friends and family.

Both stories are set in Amish Country. The Confession is the story of family secrets that suddenly come to light and the resulting conflict and consequences. Half-Stitched brings a group of mismatched people together, all of whom have lives that are coming apart, fraying, and threatening to break. As they are sometimes at odds with each other in heated conflict and sometimes supporting each other in sorrow or happiness, they begin to see how unraveled lives can be made whole.

Half-Stitched will finish its 2013 run at our Carlisle Inn Sugarcreek theater on December 21. Some shows still have seats available; tickets make a great Christmas, birthday, or anniversary gift. See more on both shows and read our audience’s reviews at www.amishcountrymusicals.com. Tickets can be purchased through the website or by calling the Carlisle Inn Box Office at 855-344-7547.

Fans of both shows are already looking forward to next year’s season which will again run from June to December. Ticket sales for 2014 are now open! So if you enjoyed the shows this year or if you don’t want to miss them next year, reserve your seats early. Plan an extraordinary evening for loved ones or a friend, and treat them to a performance of either musical in our theater.

Holiday shopping is a delight here in Amish Country. Our Dutch Valley Gifts, The Coop, and Carlisle Gifts are within an easy walk of our inns and restaurants. You’ll find a wide range of gift ideas for almost everyone on your list. And don’t forget that gift cards are always appreciated.

As you look ahead to 2014, keep an eye on Dutchman Hospitality’s website, www.dhgroup.com. Join us for dinner and shows on New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day, and watch for more winter specials to come. Come any time to relax and rejuvenate; enjoy friends and family or find a quiet retreat for yourself. We’ll provide a beautiful setting, luxurious rooms, friendly people, entertainment, and good food.

It’s a new season! Come and savor some of the best times to be in Amish Country.
