Spring and Summer ring in festival season in Youngstown and Mahoning County. Many unique events are scheduled that will feature fabulous food, music , dancing and specialty vendors.

Be sure to catch the annual Summer Festival of the Arts, a juried art show, on the beautiful campus of Youngstown State University. A very popular part of this festival is the Parade of Nations, which highlights many of the ethnic cultures that make up the Mahoning Valley area. Wonderful food, crafts and customs will be featured.

Several ethnic festivals take place in the heart of downtown Youngstown each year. You’ll want to check out Simply Slavic, The Greater Youngstown Italian Fest, The Youngstown Spanish Heritage Festival, and the Arab-American Festival to name a few.

The ever-popular Shaker Woods Festival takes place over three weekends, and draws crowds from all around the region to the beautiful wooded grounds that house the best craftspeople dressed in Shaker period clothing demonstrating and selling their remarkable handmade wares.
