Time Left For One Last Canoe Trip On the Mohican River

The end of October brings the another Mohican River canoe season to a close.  But there is time is still left to enjoy one last canoe trip.  Most of the six Loudonville-area canoe liveries are open through Sunday, October 27.

Liveries offer trips from 30 minutes to 2-3 hours and more.  Depending on the livery, visitors can choose a canoe, kayak, raft or tube.  Some offer discounts for groups of 12 canoers or those needing 6 or more canoes.  It is recommended larger groups make reservations.  As all liveries are also campgrounds, plan to spend the night in a tent, RV, or cabin.  This time of year the river is not as crowded and visitors can enjoy a relaxing, leisurely excursion.

For information on all Loudonville area canoe liveries go to www.DiscoverMohican.com and click the canoe livery information button.  Current river conditions are also available on the web site.

While in the area why not visit Mohican State Park, one of the most visited parks in Ohio.  Don’t forget to browse Loudonville’s quaint Victorian downtown shops.  Get a bit to eat from the many locally-owned and favorite chain restaurants.

The Mohican-Loudonville Visitors Bureau can provide detailed information about visiting the area. Contact the Visitors Bureau at 877-2MOHICAN.
